Advent 2024: Mon 16 Dec
Graham Kendrick
Graham Kendrick is hailed by many as a modern Isaac Watts. His and Watts’ words are inspired from a deep understanding of faith. As with Watts and other prolific writers, there’ll be a few clangers amongst the bangers. Time will tell. Some of Kendrick’s songs may be aimed towards performance but most are for people to sing in worship. Modern writers bring a freshness to our worship, using language that we and those who are unfamiliar with religious or older terminology can understand.
He has written a wide range of Christmas songs that deserve to be among the carol canon. As there are so many I’ll leave you a list – chose one or two:

A child is born, a Son is given
And his Kingdom of peace will never end
A child is born, a Son is given
And his Kingdom of peace will never end
Never end, No!
And nothing will ever be the same again
This night could change everything
Nothing will ever be the same again
Since the night he came.
